Welcome to Midwest School


OUR MISSION

Midwest School will provide a safe and orderly environment conducive to learning so that all students have the opportunity to reach their goals.

GOAL 1: LITERATE STUDENTS
By May 2014, 100% of Midwest students will perform at or above the 35th percentile, as measured by the NWEA in the area of Reading.
Strategies:
Standardize, implement, and assess written response to reading.
Implement RtI process and use of high yield intervention strategies.

GOAL 2: EXCELLING SCHOOLS

By May 2014, 100% of Midwest students tested in writing will perform at the proficient level or above, as measured by PAWS.
Strategies:
Standardize the RtI process across all grade levels (Tier 1 with extended response writing, Tier 2, Tier 3).
Standardize, implement, and assess writing instruction.

GOAL 3: EXCELLING SCHOOLS

By May 2014, 100% of Midwest students will show expected or high growth in Math on the NWEA.
Strategies:
Standardize the instructional expectations and assessment process for math extended response.

GOAL 4: EFFICIENT & EFFECTIVE OPERATIONS

All school procedures and processes will be effective and efficient to ensure Midwest has an environment conducive to learning.
Strategies:
Review, standardize and implement the crisis management plan specific to Midwest School includes school climate, student safety and behavior.
